Although Google Plus is just in the beta version and you need an invitation email before can join, Google Plus still has a bright future and many, many people believe it will beat Facebook and Twitter in the short of time. For me, I’m so excited in Google Plus because of its extensive features, fast working and an ability to connect to other Google services such as: Gmail, Picasa, Places… therefor, these extensions will help you a lot in this experience.

Google +1

‘Google Plus 1’ or ‘Google +1’ may provide you an easy way to add +1 remark to the current page.

Extended Share for Google Plus

Google+ does not have a quick way sharing your posts to Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook, this extension will add a link “Share on …” to each post. Once clicked, it will bring up an internal bubble asking you where to share your post.

Surplus

Surplus will bring Google+ Features to your browser sidebar (like one in your Gmail account)
Features:

  • Post or respond from within the popup
  • Desktop Notifications
  • Notification sounds
  • Switch between multiple Google accounts

Helper for Google+

This extension adds twitter and translate link to every Google Plus post.

  • Share Google+ Posts with people on twitter.
  • Translate posts with Google Translate to language specified by you
  • Notifier – Get desktop notifications on new posts, also with sound
  • Linked hashtags in posts for better search

Comment Toggle

Comment Toggle hides any comments to posts within your Stream and makes them available if and when you actually want to see them.

  1. This new one greatly improves readability of the stream :
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/dkcppcocablbakkaboahjmljpodddkcp

  2. Google Plus is really wonder full product by Google. The user interface is really fantastic. And have a look on the extensions that i mentioned here http://webreignited.com/extensions-that-rock-your-google.html these are also some nice extensions that i feel to use in my Chrome.

  3. My big thing with all the extensions is what it accesses from my account.
I know all extensions access something but some get very intrusive.
The one I found the best so far that lets you share more on G+ is
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/fgmhgfecnmeljhchgcjlfldjiepcfpea

That one just accesses you data on G+ which all the Chrome extensions do.
Some of them like the ones on this list also grab browsing history and other items.
I like 2 of them on here though :)
1 – extend share for google plus the difference between this one and the one I posted above is
that the one I posted does not have LinkedIn as an option.
    2 – comment toggle
Is it worth my browsing history… not sure lol
Even though “comment toggle” on their extension page says we do not grab your browsing history.

    Nice post and nice list!

    1. Oh, I’m not aware about the privacy stealing from these plugins until reading your comment, thank you so much Carlos.

    2. Hi Carlos,
I’m the author of the G+me http://huyz.us/google-plus-me/ extension.
I share your concerns about privacy.

Unfortunately, this warning is highly misleading.
If you look at Google’s help http://www.google.com/support/chrome_webstore/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=186213&rd=1 you will see:
“This item could look at your browsing history. This warning is often a by-product of an item needing to open new tabs or windows.”
Remember “could” does not mean “does”.

These extensions do not steal privacy. How do I know? Because I looked at the source code, which you can too. In fact, you can check the source code of *every* extension that you install in Chrome: http://orenyomtov.com/how-to-view-a-google-chrome-extensions-full-source-code.html . (Plus, the extensions you mentioned share the source code on github.com).

In the case of my extension (and many others), all it takes to get a “browsing history” warning is for the extension to use this function:
      http://code.google.com/chrome/extensions/tabs.html#method-sendRequest
That’s just to communicate between your overall extension and the part of the extension that runs on the Google+ page.

This misleading warning about “browsing history” is Google’s fault.
They really should be clearer about it.

Trust me, these extensions and mine do NOT track history. We’re open-source coders with no other intentions.

      Thanks for your feedback, though,
      Huy

  4. Here is another great chrome app, G+Me, which simplifies busy or not so busy streams. Collapsible list and expanded view, has notification count and keep tracks of new comments. Able to read stream with ease. Details and download from http://huyz.us/google-plus-me/

  5. Sorry Leeza but that app needs permission to see your browsing history. There are other apps that do the same that do not ask for that request. I think its too intrusive.

    1. Carlos, please see the post by Huys above. In general, I am as militant as you can be in my concern for privacy in networked environments and applications, but in this case I believe your concern is misplaced.

  6. You should add the Hangout Finder Extension to that list!

  7. The Usability Boost extension (mentioned above), I’ll agree, is nice. Too though, I’d quickly add G+Me for collapsed stream content. The Surplus extension is fine, but I really am enjoying the other two – Boost, and G+Me.. Also tried Ultimate.

    G+Me = https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/oacdcllhgpddmlnhajiacfakhlilbicp

  8. Promoting google+ votes is becoming a very hot business. Using these types of services could have negative or positive affects on SEO.
We just have to see how google treats them. Another place to buy google plus votes is bulkones.com
Will be interesting to see how this evolves over the next few months.

  10. I don’t think it can beat Facebook at this time but Google plus has potentials. For me it will take time until all Facebook users would try Google plus. Many users are addicted to Facebook so let’s just see in the near future.

  11. You could also check out MediaPlus for Chrome. MediaPlus lets you move, resize, download, magnify and do more with media content like flash movies, images, games, HTML5 videos, etc.
    Available at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/emaamodndfmmmcjepfigalbjjjemadom

  16. Google Chrome is the best browser currently on all the platforms, be it Android, iOS or Desktop. I <3 the bookmark and password sync features of Chrome :) The speed offered by Chrome browser is top notch and still way ahead of every browser !

The only thing that's really annoying me is the UI changes that they have done with the latest update. Recent and "opened in other devices" have been moved to the menu that opens when you click on the "wrench" menu. I think they should fix it soon to make the UI more seamless and easier to navigate. Do you know of any extensions to modify the UI of Google Chrome?
